Salmon River Lighthouse & Marina Overview About

Welcome To The Salmon River Lighthouse & Marina

The Salmon River Lighthouse & Marina is proud to announce its 2017 Season Lighthouse, cottage and boat and canoe/kayak rental schedule. Please review the enclosed rental opportunities and choose your time to visit us and and unwind from your busy lifestyle. As new owners in 2014, we completed many improvements and upgrades to nearly every part of our property with additional upgrades and improvements also completed in '15 and '16.  The interiors of the Lighthouse and all three cottages were renovated and new appliances, mattresses, fixtures and heating and air conditioning systems were replaced or upgraded as needed. If you were a guest at the property prior to 2014, you may not recognize it today due to the numerous improvements and modifications which have been completed. If this is your first visit, we promise you a comfortable, relaxing and carefree environment during your leisure time on the Salmon River and Lake Ontario. We welcome you as our guest and look forward to your stay with us.

Enjoy spending time in our 3-bedroom Lighthouse or one of our three (3) rental cottages, all located right in the midst of one of New York State's premier fisheries. Located at the mouth of the Salmon River at Lake Ontario, our Marina, Lighthouse and cottages offer something for everyone, young and old alike.

Families, fishermen and lighthouse lovers from around the world have spent time enjoying the beautiful surroundings, sunsets and beaches in this area of New York state. Unlike a major portion of Lake Ontario with its rocky coastline, our guests are afforded the unique and quiet enjoyment of a massive span of private, soft, sandy beach on the shore of the Lake, with a very gently sloping and soft, sandy lake bottom, located directly across the river from the Marina.

For 2017, we are proud to have eight (8) of Lake Ontario's finest charter boat captains docked in our Marina as members of the Salmon River Lighthouse & Marina Fleet. We anticipate adding additional charter boats to expand an already top-notch fleet in one of the finest world-class fisheries in New York. Each year trophy-sized Ckinook (King) and Coho salmon, brown trout, lake trout, steelhead and bass comprise the routinely bountiful catch by charter boat customers, and 2017 should prove to be another banner year. The lake fishing season begins in April and culminates in late summer and/or fall with the ever-exciting Salmon Run into and up the river. For the heartier, die hard fisherman, the late fall and early winter months also offer tremendous river fishing.

For those with desires other than fresh water sport fishing, our 1838 fully-operational Selkirk Lighthouse offers comfortable and cozy overnight accommodations throughout the spring, summer and fall. Just minutes away are the Salmon River Falls, the Salmon River Fish Hatchery, a fine selection of golf courses, restaurants, miniature golf and a go-cart track. We are also located close enough to the 1000 Islands, Canada, and the Adirondack Region of New York to make fun, family day trips an added option and bonus.

In addition to offering the 2-story Lighthouse Residence and three (3) cottages for rent, we also offer seasonal & transient boat slip rentals, seasonal & daily boat launches, seasonal & daily parking, small motorized fishing boat & canoe/kayak rentals, a fully-staffed marina store and ethanol-free 91 octane gas and diesel fuel.

My group stays at the Tan camp every year. Great place to stay when fishing the lake. Abe is a great guy and very accomodating. We'll be back again next for sure.
