Captain Jimmy has been fishing the offshore waters of South Florida for nearly thirty years. At the age of six he landed his first sailfish (a sixty two pound fish after a two and a half hour battle on ten pound line) and boated his first blue marlin at the age of twelve. Both fish were landed while fishing with his father on their family boat.

Family is very important to Jimmy nearly thirty years later and his wife Debbi, son James, and daughter Laurel are an essential part of the L&H operation. While growing up it was Jimmy's father and grandfather that taught him on the family boat Frick and Frack and for the next twenty years Jimmy, his brother Freddie, their father, and grandfather teamed up to achieve countless top three finishes and numerous First Place victories in South Florida fishing tournaments. During this time Jimmy fished for giant bluefin tuna in the northeast and landed over 100 giants between three hundred and nine hundred sixty pounds.

Immediately after marrying Debbi, Jimmy began to work full time for John L. Dudas and it was John who would teach Jimmy all about fishing on the L&H. The Dudas family was an inspiration and would always excel in charter and tournament fishing. The majority of the techniques used today on the L&H were pioneered by John B. Dudas and his two sons John Louie and Brett.
