Hot Tuna Charter offers canyon and inshore fishing trips, as well as inshore cruises. Departing from NC in the winter/spring and NJ in summer/fall, we are available for tournament and recreational fishing. Novice and experienced anglers are welcome. The big game fish we chase include tuna, marlin, shark, bluefish, striped bass, bonito, and dolphin (mahi-mahi).

Hot Tuna was awarded 1st place Overall Blue Marlin Champion in a Beach Haven Marlin and Tuna Club Invitational tournament. Ninety-two boats participated. The winning fish was caught in 1000 fathoms between Wilmington and Baltimore Canyon. The Hot Tuna lost one 30 feet from the boat (stainless hook bent--no longer allow them on the boat) just South of Hudson Canyon at 500 fathoms. Both estimated to be in the 250-300 range.

Captains Bob Gerkens piloted the Hot Tuna to victory in a Summer-long Shoot Out Tournament between the Northeast Blackfins and Bertrams. Hot Tuna finished the tournament as the "Top Boat" with catches that included tuna and marlin.
