Backlash Sportfishing Overview About

Give Captain Steve Richardson a call today, and they will setup your exciting offshore adventure. The Mid-Atlantic offshore waters from Maryland to Virginia and make up one of the most spectacular fisheries in the world!

The offshore towers, ship wrecks, the relatively short run to the Gulf Stream make Southeastern Virginia and Northeastern North Carolina one of the best places on the East Coast to fish! Those who have had the opportunity to fish this special place feel fortunate.

On September 23rd Backlash Sportfishing, a Virginia Beach charter with top skipper, Captain Steve Richardson set not only a Virginia Beach fishing record but an entire east coast record by catching 42 marlin in one single day of Virginia Beach fishing.

The BACKLASH is a 56' Cutom Carolina Sportfishing.  At an average cruising speed of 27 knots she'll get you to the fishing grounds quick and comfortably. The spacious salon boasts air-conditioning or heat for those fishing days that range from the 90's to the 20's. For those early morning runs and after a long day of cranking fish, you'll find companionway bunks midship  to crash on as well.

Backlash carries tournament quality tackle ranging from light spinning tackle to the 80's that are a must for the big tunas. In the cockpit stands a Murray Bros. Fighting Chair, ready to give you the right level of comfort and ease for those big 'uns. Capt. Steve operates state of the art electronics up on the bridge including radar, two bottom sounder, two VHF radios, two GPS/Plotter's and a long range Single Sideband Radio.
