My name is Captain Brad Spalding, originally from Indiana I have been a sportsman and a fisherman my whole life. My Grandmother started me Bass fishing at a very young age and our vessel of choice was her Lincoln Continental which had a trunk full of gear at all times. I joined the USAF at the age of 18 and my assignments were located in some of the best fishing spots in the world. Being a Firefighter, I had plenty of time to explore my surroundings. The first of many was Homestead AFB located near Miami, this is where I truly got the saltwater itch and the rest of my twenty-two year career was spent strategically working to get back to Florida.
In 2001 I jumped at the opportunity and the Air Force moved my family to Patrick AFB located in Melbourne, Fl. We have since had a blast fishing the eastern seaboard of Florida and the Bahamas. It paid off four years ago when my Daughter at the age of 14 broke the IGFA World Record for Swordfish in the female junior category, that is a memory of a lifetime for our family. Our boat The Brassy Hooker sponsored by Bluepoints Marina in Port Canaveral has won countless titles in offshore tournaments finishing in the top 3 in every tournament out of Port Canaveral last year with just one exception.
Since my retirement from the military I am a full time Captain and fisherman. I know where the fish eat, sleep, and breed and I assure you that your trip with me on “The Hooker” will be a fun filled day with family memories that will last a lifetime.
