Kircher When pioneer Everett Kircher came to the Boyne area to start his ski lodge, he had first pick at the sections of river he wished to stake his claim. Being an accomplished angler, Kircher spent years perfecting what is known today as the Everett Kircher Preserve. Completely closed off for years, the Preserve was opened for exclusive use by Boyne Outfitters in 2011. Considered the best private-access stretch of blue-ribbon trout stream in Michigan, the 'Preserve' as we like to call it, is a gem to both novice and seasoned anglers alike. One full mile of beautiful scenery, manicured banks, and amazing riffles and pools, you will be amazed that this private section of water lies in our backyard. The Preserve is truly the epitome of a northern Michigan trout stream with its exceptional hatches and beautiful, healthy trout. At the end of the Preserve is 80 acre Kircher Pond. With its fantastic warmwater opportunities for scrappy smallmouth bass and voracious northern pike, you have some of the best private water in the Midwest.
