When it comes to our September calendar, https://bit.ly/3wROr2p, we highlight the month with trips to Sportsman's Lake and the Thorofare. Elk love to bugle at the lake this time of year so that's always a treat and in the Thorofare-- you can find yourself at the furthest point from a paved road in the Lower 48. It's a wild place with chances for big cutthroat as well. Lots of critters there too!
In August, we have four pack trips planned including Slough Creek, Lamar River, Bechler (one spot left) and Sportsman's Lake. Tap https://bit.ly/3wSkBLd for our calendar and see what works for you. Whether you are a hardcore fly fisherman, photographer or looking to see some amazing scenic beauty-- the Yellowstone backcountry has it all! #Moose #Campfire #Packtrip #Yellowstone #Waterfalls #Backcountry #Adventure
July 1 marks our first pack trip for 2021 as we head into the Northwest Corner of the park. July 20, we ride to the Mirror Plateau. Click https://bit.ly/3tfSdRi to see our calendar. We also offer day rides when not on multi-day trips-- so contact us about a date for your next adventure.
Word around the park is the first couple sightings of these guys! Red dogs, or bison calves, sure enjoy the spring as they "buck" around with their buddies all day long-- no care in the world. Remember those days?
It's almost time to hit the trailhead! Can't wait to get into the backcountry. The West Entrance is about to open up and road crews are still removing snow. Still a few key dates before we ride, but we are always looking forward to our first trip!
Make a new friend this summer. Our horses are friendly and happy to take your on an adventure into the Yellowstone backcountry. Private day rides or multi-day trips-- we do it all, but reserve your trip early as we are filling up! Tap https://bit.ly/3t4GFjK today.

That's one busy momma! Bighorn sheep babies are beginning to show. This momma had three near Mammoth. Where do you usually see bighorns in the park?
This bull moose wasn't having anything to do with our group. We saw him on a trip last season. I've heard of the cold shoulder but what do you call this? Enjoy a wildlife watcher's dream and join us in 2021! Yellowstone's lodges and campground are full-- so escape to the backcountry, we still have packtrip slots open!
Hoppers, beetles and ants are some of the most productive summer patterns to tie on your line in Yellowstone! What are some of your favorite patterns? This brown hit a Schroeder's parachute hopper.
April showers bring May flowers which bring grizzly bears? Works for me! Join us and see it all this summer in Yellowstone. Tap www.sunrisepackstation.com to start planning your backcountry adventure!
This is Wind River Canyon, one of the spots you will pass driving from Casper to the East Entrance. Which route do you take to the park or do you fly into Bozeman, Jackson or Salt Lake?
The Thorofare is one of the most remote locations in the Lower 48. Come explore it on a pack trip with us. Click https://sunrisepackstation.com/fishing-trips for more information. #yellowstonenationalpark #horses
Here’s a shot of Dunraven Pass. This is one of the best spots in the park to scan with a spotting scope. If you spend an hour here early or late in the day...you will almost always spot a bear. The road from Chittenden Road to Tower will see construction closures. See https://www.yellowstonepark.com/news/grand-loop-road-construction/ for construction info for 2021.
For fisherman, we have several fishing day rides which offer pristine waters and nice fish along with beautiful scenery. Our fishing day rides are an all day ride to a great fishing location in Yellowstone. We usually fish Fan Creek, or the Upper Gallatin River, but We will service anywhere in the Northern or Central portions of the park at a client’s request. We have fished for Brown Trout in the Black Canyon of the Yellowstone, Cutthroat up in Slough Creek’s Second Meadow or Brook Trout up on the Gardner River. We provide a horse, lunch, and pack your fishing gear in for you. Our rides generally run July, August, September and October. We schedule rides early in the year, but occasionally a pack trip cancels and we have openings so call anytime for availability we will always try to take you. See more at https://sunrisepackstation.com/horse-trips.
Our Pebble Creek Fishing and Photography trip will set out on July 23 this summer. This is the ideal 4-day trip for someone not sure about a long ride as it is only a 3-mile ride into camp. Once there we'll set up camp quickly and give you a chance to get out fishing or snapping photos right away.. Besides the obvious scenery in the backcountry as well as the abundant wildlife, anglers will have fun catching and releasing 10-to 14-inch cutthroat. You can match the hatch or just go with a good attractor pattern. When you have had your fill of fishing and photography for the afternoon, we'll have a delightful meal and a chance to relax by the fire in the evening. Tap https://sunrisepackstation.com/trip-information/multi-day-horse-pack-trips/ to reserve space for you and your family now!

Cutthroat have to be my favorite trout! They feature spots, bright colors and really are a combo of browns and rainbows, when it comes to color patterns. Maybe even brook-like when in full spawning colors! #cutthroattrout #catchandrelease #flyfishing #yellowstonetrails #yellowstonenationalpark #yellowstonebackcountry #trailhiking #wadefishing #montana #wyoming #river #adventure
