January fishing can be tough but it was critical to go try it in the first place. So grab a big coat and wet a jig you might be surprised what you can catch in this cold water.
Lake Eufaula is going to produce a lot of. Good slabs this year. Caught this female today in structure about 10 feet deep using Lake fork tackle color was Blue bruiser. Dead sticking was the technique I used today. Water temp was 47 when I left the lake. I'm surprised by that cause last week the lake was frozen over.
That is the biggest black crappie I have ever seen come out of Lake Eufaula. It was over two pounds and 17 inches long. Holy crap!!!!! Hit the jackpot in December. Found a large school of crappie on Eufaula Lake and had to leave them biting because that is a 3 man limit of 111 crappie. Winter time crappie fishing can be phenomenal. When you find them they will be in large schools. Thanks to John and Bob for coming up from South Texas and spending a few days with me. Had a good day out looking for some crappie on Lake Eufaula fishing the mid section finding clear water is essential for cold water crappie fishing. Lake Fork tackle blue Bruiser was my best color.
