All our Montana fly fishing trips are all inclusive:  We provide everything you need to have a successful day on the water including all flies, leaders, top of the line Sage rods, reels, and Simms waders. Every full day fishing trip comes with a quality streamside lunch with drinks. Transportation to and from the river. Airport pick up is available if needed.

What is not included:  Montana fishing license and guide gratuity.

Policies & Reservations:  To assure that you'll be fishing on the days you prefer, we recommend that you book your trip several weeks or months in advance. We will confirm your reservation upon receipt of a 50% deposit. Full refunds will be issued when trips are cancelled at least 30 days in advance of your trip date. No refunds will be issued if you cancel within 30 days. We have no control over Mother Nature's unpredictability, refunds are not made when due to inclement weather.

What are my fishing options? Based in Bozeman, Montana, we fish over 300 miles of beautiful blue ribbon, wild trout waters. We guide many of the famous Montana rivers such as the Madison, Yellowstone, Gallatin, Beaverhead and Missouri rivers. We also provide fly fishing trips to many smaller streams and other out-of-way destinations. We hold fly fishing guiding permits for Yellowstone National park as well. We offer both wade fishing and float trips. 

What equipment do I need to bring? At Montana Trout Wranglers our guided fishing trips are all inclusive. The cost of the trip includes the use of quality fly fishing rods, reels, waders and boots. We also provide leaders, tippet and all flies to insure you have everything you need for a successful fly fishing venture. If you would prefer to use your own fly fishing gear we would suggest a 9 foot fly fishing rod in either a 5 or 6 weight. If you like to tie your own flies for your trip we would be happy to suggest some patterns suited for the time of year that you will be fishing with us. 

Must haves:  Rain Jacket, Sunscreen, Polarized Sunglasses, & Long Billed Hat. 

Who will be my fly fishing guide?  Montana Trout Wranglers has a variety of seasoned and experienced guides to make your day on the river a great time. We hire only guides and outfitters that we feel are the best of the best. All guides are true professionals and take their job seriously. After a brief consultation, Dane Huzarski, the owner of Montana Troutwranglers will personally match you up with one of the Montana Troutwranglers guides that will best suit your wants and needs. Dane feels confident that any one of our guides will do their best for you but if there is a specific guide you are looking for, please let us know. Check out our guide staff. 

How should I dress for my day on the river? Montana's weather can be variable and we want you to be prepared. Summertime thunderstorms do occur and temperature swings can be significant. Layering is your best defense against the weather. During the summertime we suggest either lightweight pants or shorts and either wading boots or sandals. You may need a light jacket and long sleeves in the morning and then shed layers as the day warms up. In the spring and fall seasons you may need a few more layers such as fleece pants, heavier jacket, warm hat and gloves. We always have room for your gear so feel free to bring whatever you need. 

What time of year should I fish?  Our season is open year round but the majority of our trips are from April through October. The peak season is July through September but it is also the busiest. If you are looking for a little more solitude a guided fly fishing trip in the spring and fall seasons can be rewarding. Our major hatches start occurring in April and continue throughout the summer and into fall. Check out our hatch chart for our area rivers. 

Is lunch provided? All of our full day fly fishing trips include a quality deli styled lunch from one of our local caterers or restaurants. We also provide an assortment of non-alcoholic drinks. If you have any dietary restrictions, please let us know when booking so we can accommodate your needs. 

Gratuities for guides? Our fly fishing guides work hard to make sure you get the most out of every fishing day. Even though guide tips are never expected they are always appreciated. 15%-20% of the price of the guide trip is common but anything extra that shows your appreciation is greatly valued. 

How much advance notice do I need to book my trip? Prime dates can be booked many months if not a year in advance. Many times we accommodate you within a few weeks of your chosen dates but the more advance notice we receive the better. Many of our fly fishing destination trips to the Missouri river require more advance notice to reserve the limited lodging options. Be sure to contact us as soon as possible if you are interested in fishing this or other farther away destinations that require lodging.
