Here's a group shot of our veterans and fishermen and a shot of our 2nd day catch. Many thanks to AD Jones for assisting on my boat and to all who come together to make this event possible.
Once again I had the privilege of taking a Veteran fishing as part of the Combat Marines Outdoors annual visit to Seadrift, Texas. Th= first days weather was very windy but the second day gave us a break.. As always, we had a great time. Semper Fi..
Wading yesterday got me close but one red shy. Still a good time and some solid trout.
Reds on downsouth kickin chicken. Fun day with the Bastrop guys. #Karla Burtch, #Mowdy Boats, #downsouth lures
Kinda tough for us today but got our trout limit and only 3 slot reds. The Alamo city guys had to do a little grinding but hung in.
Found some reds but couldn't get the trout to come out and play. Plenty fun.
Had the pleasure of this young fellows company on a morning trip today. Carl caught and released 8 slot reds and we kept 2 reds and a flounder so he and his family could have fresh fish for dinner. It made for a great morning. His smile was as bright as the sun!!
Despite the fresh north wind and cool temperatures these troopers knocked out a four man limit of reds and a bonus 25" trout. Would've released the trout but it was DOA.
The last two days. Something of a grind but still pretty good fishing. DownSouth lures, FINS braid.
An awesome start for the day and a bountiful ending. All caught on Down South kicking chicken with FINS Windtamer..#Karla Burch
Last couple of days fishing hardware with friends. Never gets old!!!
Had a good day yesterday in the fog with a couple of friends. All on plastic. Feeding em chicken!!!
Day 4 of some really good fishing with AD Jones and Capt Jerry from First Cast Lodge. They even let me catch a few today.
We got our reds and 6 trout. Down South lures over grass and mud. One red had more than 40 spots on each side and is headed to the taxidermist. Windy day but good fishing.
Last 2 days with AD Jones.. The 2 24" trout came on back to back casts. Good times
Captain Jerry from First Cast Lodge and I found a limit of solid trout and reds this morning on down south kickin chicken over grass and potholes. Too much fun.
Last couple of days fishing hardware over grass/mud. Released more reds and had a great time fishing!
Last 2 days of chunking plastic have yielded some nice fish. Yesterday we managed our limit of trout to 23" and all our reds. Today we had to hole up from a storm for 2 hours and still collected our limit of reds, 4 nice trout, and 2 flounder. Feeding em chicken! !!
